BAHAWALPUR, Jan 18 (APP):A team of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) discarded sub-standard food items including soft drinks in several areas on Saturday.
According to a press release issued here, under the supervision of PFA Director Operations South Shehzad Khan Magsi, a team visited several commercial areas and markets and inspected quality of food items. “The team found sale of several sub-standard food items in different markets and discarded those item,” it said.
The sub-standard food items included over 1,000 litres of carbonated soft drinks, over 90 litres of sugar syrup, over 10 litres of expired syrup and bakery items. Shopkeepers found involved in sale of sub-standard food items were fined one lakh rupees collectively.
