MULTAN, Nov 09 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has intensified its crackdown on adulteration in children’s food products, confiscating 100 kilograms of substandard patisa and other harmful materials being used in production in Lodhran.
The operation was led by the Deputy Director (Operations) and took place at a patisa production unit located in the 7-Marla Scheme, Bhutta Amir Wala, Lodhran. During the raid, the PFA food safety team seized 100 kilograms of substandard patisa along with a significant quantity of unhygienic raw materials used in its production. Laboratory tests confirmed that the confectionery contained non-standard and low-quality ingredients.
The premises were found to be in a deplorable state, with the food items being prepared in unsafe, contaminated conditions. Further inspection revealed that the patisa was being packaged with fake labeling, and the products were intended for sale in the market.
In response, the PFA team immediately disposed of the unsafe food products and registered an FIR against the unit owner. The Director General of PFA, in his statement, assured the public that the authority’s raids would continue without discrimination, targeting any entities that endanger public health with substandard or unsafe food products.
