RAWALPINDI, Jul 31 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) destroyed as many as 3,000 kilograms of stale meat here on Thursday.
According to a PFA spokesman, the operation was carried out early in the morning against a beef and mutton shop on Jamia Masjid Road.
A fake seal of the slaughterhouse was also seized from the scene.
The veterinary doctor examined the meat on the spot and declared it highly hazardous.
A case was registered against the accused at the Banni police station.
The spokesman stated that the PFA team, by taking timely action, saved the citizens from consuming substandard meat.
The Punjab Food Authority is continuing its operations against substandard meat across the province.
He asked the citizens to contact the PFA helpline 1223 in case of any complaint.
