RAWALPINDI, Oct 30 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi Division on Thursday conducted a major operation in Hassanabdal, Attock District, seizing over 10,000 litres of counterfeit and substandard soft drinks of a popular brand and destroying them on the spot at the Hassanabdal dumping site.
According to a PFA spokesperson, the raid was carried out following secret information and extensive surveillance. The factory, operating without a PFA licence, was found producing soft drinks with extremely low Brix levels, indicating poor quality and adulteration.
The spokesperson said that the premises had been sealed, while samples of the seized beverages were sent to a laboratory for further testing.
He added that the crackdown against manufacturers and sellers of counterfeit and substandard beverages was continuing across Punjab.
The spokesperson urged the public to report any suspected activity related to the production or sale of fake or low-quality drinks by calling the Punjab Food Authority helpline 1223.
