CHINIOT, Jul 29 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA)’s food safety team in Chiniot took swift action on Tuesday, seizing over 80 kg of highly defective and substandard meat supplied to a religious seminary.
According to APP correspondent, the Deputy Director Operations Dr. Muhammad Qasim Raza said that the meat was supplied illegally without a slaughtering stamp.
The seized meat was destroyed due to its poor quality and potential health risks.
During inspections, 108 food establishments were checked and a fine of Rs 82,000 was imposed for serious violations of food safety laws.
The authority also destroyed 1 kg of prohibited ingredients and 1 kg of rotten vegetables, which were found during inspections.
These actions demonstrate the Punjab Food Authority’s commitment to maintaining food safety standards in the district.
