PFA cracks down on adulteration in Chiniot

CHINIOT, Jul 22 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Chiniot on Tuesday conducted operations to combat adulteration in the district.
Deputy Director Operations Dr Muhammad Qasim Raza, food safety teams raided a snack unit, discovering substandard and health-hazardous oil used for frying namkeen and papad.
The authority took decisive action, destroying 15 kg of papad and over 50 liters of substandard frying oil and the owner was heavily fined.
Additionally, food safety teams inspected over 52 milk trucks using a modern lacto-scan machine and destroyed 30 liters of adulterated milk.
The PFA imposed fines totaling Rs 107,000 for law violations and recovered over 38 kg of expired products from grocery stores, which were subsequently destroyed.
These operations demonstrate the authority’s commitment to ensuring food safety and protecting public health in Chiniot.
