CHINIOT, Oct 15 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority on Wednesday has intensified its zero-tolerance campaign against food adulteration in Chiniot district.
According to PFA spokesman, the food safety team intercepted a vehicle carrying adulterated milk, which was found to contain dry milk powder and vegetable ghee.
A case was registered, and the vehicle along with the suspects was handed over to the police. During inspections, the team visited various grocery stores, meat shops, and food outlets in Chiniot.
Several outlets were found violating food safety regulations, resulting in fines amounting to Rs56,500. Over 3 kilograms of expired and unsafe materials were discarded on the spot. The authority is taking strict action against adulteration and food fraud. The Punjab Food Authority has urged citizens to report any complaints to the helpline 1223.
