MULTAN, Jan 08 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has dismantled a gang involved in manufacturing and selling adulterated tea leaves after a raid in Jinnah Colony, Jahanian.
During the operation, authorities seized and discarded 210 kilograms of counterfeit tea leaves, which were found to contain harmful artificial coloring.
PFA officials revealed that the illicit production unit was using synthetic dyes to adulterate the tea leaves, which were being packed and sold under the name of a well-known brand. Laboratory tests at the site confirmed the presence of dangerous color additives in the product.
In addition to confiscating the adulterated tea, the production unit was sealed, and an FIR was lodged against the accused. PFA’s Director General emphasized that the authority will continue to take strict action against such fraudulent practices to protect the health and safety of consumers.
