PESCO initiates legal proceedings against Habib Medical Complex over power pilferage
PESHAWAR, Sep 30 (APP):A PESCO night raid at Habib Medical Complex in Dabgari has uncovered an electricity pilferage network through which stolen power was allegedly being supplied to 12 clinics, besides running the facility’s lift and a laser clinic outside the complex.
According to PESCO spokesman, its team found a heavy-gauge illegal wire connected to check meters and being used to distribute electricity to the clinics.
The raid was conducted on the special directives of PESCO Chief Akhtar Hamid Khan, while SDO Dabgari seized the illegal wire and disconnected all unauthorized connections.
The spokesman said electricity supply to the medical complex was not disconnected during the operation to prevent inconvenience to patients receiving treatment at night.
PESCO said the medical complex would face a heavy financial penalty, while legal proceedings had been initiated over the alleged electricity theft.
