LAHORE, Jul 17 (APP):Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) Director General (DG) Capt (retd) Farrukh Atiq held a meeting with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar at the Central Police Office (CPO), here on Thursday.
The meeting was also attended by DIG Establishment-II Captain (Retd) Liaqat Ali Malik, DIG Riot Management Police Asad Sarfraz Khan, and SP PERA Muhammad Imran.
During the meeting, IGP Dr Usman extended best wishes for the success of PERA and lauded the Authority’s pivotal role in ensuring public welfare. He highlighted that a specially trained force had been constituted for PERA to ensure effective enforcement against encroachments, hoarding and profiteering.
He informed that, on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a contingent of 3,000 trained personnel had been assigned to PERA. The Punjab Police, he said, would continue to provide full operational and training support to help the Authority achieve its objectives.
The IGP also directed DIG Establishment to immediately relieve all personnel designated for PERA.
DG PERA Farrukh Atiq expressed gratitude to the IG Punjab for his unwavering support and personal interest in the operationalisation of the Authority.
