People of border areas must be equipped with skills to get jobs: Balochistan CM

QUETTA, Jun 20 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday said that the people of the border areas must be equipped with valuable skills to help them find employment.
He said that the professional capacity of the police and levies would be increased to ensure the elimination of terrorism, crime and the safety of people’s lives and property.
He expressed these views while addressing at a meeting on law and order situation and ongoing development projects in Balochistan which was chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari in Gwadar during his visit.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that all stake-holders have to create a national consensus for the development of Balochistan, there was a need to intensify collective efforts to tackle the menace of terrorism.
The CM also welcomed the President’s special attention and visits to Balochistan and said that the people of Balochistan were getting a sense of belonging from the repeated visits of President Asif Ali Zardari, his love for Balochistan and its people was valued by the people of Balochistan.
While highlighting the strategy formulated for the development of the province, the Chief Minister said that the historical program of Benazir Bhutto Scholarship has been started for the promotion of education in Balochistan in which quota was allocated for all classes including minorities so that the backward classes could get opportunities to advance through educational development.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti informed that in the light of the instructions of Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto, workable policies were being formulated to develop the medical sector of Balochistan on modern lines under public-private partnership.
In the provincial budget, extraordinary resources are being allocated for education and health. The provincial government has planned to provide employment opportunities abroad by making 30,000 youth skilled in the next two years, he said.
He said that apart from this, they would provide appropriate business support by providing interest-free loans to unemployed graduates.  Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the meeting that extraordinary measures were being taken for the welfare of the fishermen of Gwadar.
The provincial government has issued instructions to the relevant departments and administrative officers for the security of Iranian pilgrims and providing them with facilities at the Pak-Iran border, he maintained.
He said that under the guidance of President Asif Ali Zardari, the provincial government would take vigorous measures to eliminate backwardness from the province and raise the standard of living of the people.
The meeting was chaired by the President during his visit of Gwadar.Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Longove, Member of National Assembly elected from Gwadar Malik Shah Gurgaige, Member of Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayatur Rahman, Additional Chief Secretary Home Zahid Saleem, Inspector General Police Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh along with senior officials were present in the meeting.
