Peace essential for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity: Minister Salman
LAHORE, Sep 21 (APP):Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique on Monday paid tribute to the armed forces and security personnel guarding the country’s borders, police and other law-enforcement agencies, and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace.
In his message on the International Day of Peace, he said Pakistan’s development and progress are rooted in sustainable peace, which remained a fundamental building block of progress and prosperity.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs have saved countless generations and protected the country’s future.
He said the International Day of Peace provided a reminder to promote tolerance and harmony, adding that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, efforts are underway to eliminate violence, hatred and extremism.
The minister said those choosing the path of violence and chaos are enemies of the progress and prosperity of the country.
