GUJRAT, Oct 24 (APP):A meeting of the District Peace Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain and District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Umar Farooq.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Saba Sahar and members of the peace committee attended the meeting.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and harmony in the district and ensuring full implementation of the Punjab government’s directives regarding the Loudspeaker Act.
It was unanimously decided that loudspeakers would be used only for Azan (call to prayer) and Friday sermons.Addressing the meeting, the DC and DPO emphasized that maintaining peace and interfaith harmony in Gujrat required joint efforts from all segments of society.Members of the peace committee assured the district administration and law enforcement agencies of their full cooperation.
Those present included District Khateeb Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Muhammad Asghar Yazdani, Syed Altaf, PFUJ President Shahid Chaudhry, Dr. Irfan Mughal, Syed Suleman Gilani, Qari Attaullah Bhadr, Abrar Hussain Saifi, Syed Muhammad Hasnain Kazmi, Sameera Malik, Nuzhat Yasmeen, Munawar Khokhar, and Khadim Ali Khadim, among others.
