LAHORE, Aug 20 (APP): Punjab Minister for Health and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Disaster Management, Khawaja Salman Rafique, has said that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is continuously monitoring the water flow in all rivers across the province.
He stated this during his visit to the PDMA Head Office on Wednesday, where he reviewed in detail the latest water flow situation in the River Ravi, River Chenab, River Indus, River Jhelum, and River Sutlej. The additional director general PDMA briefed the minister on the current status.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that PDMA Punjab is monitoring river conditions 24 hours a day and, on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is in close coordination with all relevant institutions across the province.
He added that rescue teams and other departments are performing their duties to facilitate the public in affected areas, while all institutions, including the district administration, have been directed to remain on high alert.
