PDMA completed rescue operations, passengers trapped in vehicles evacuated in affected areas by snowfall: Rind

QUETTA, Jan 23 (APP):
Balochistan Chief Minister’s Assistant for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind on Friday said that PDMA Balochistan has completed rescue operations in an effective, timely and professional manner in the areas severely affected by snowfall in Balochistan.
He said that as a result of which dozens of passengers trapped in vehicles were safely evacuated and shifted to safe places.
Shahid Rind said that despite the severe cold and adverse weather conditions, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), district administration and rescue teams performed their duties with dedication, which saved hundreds of precious human lives.
He said that this rescue operation is a clear proof of the advance preparation, effective strategy and institutional coordination of the Balochistan government.
He mentioned that Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while appreciating the overall performance of PDMA Balochistan has congratulated the institution and all the teams participating in the rescue operation.
The Chief Minister has expressed his determination that the protection of the lives and property of the people in emergency situations is the top priority of the Balochistan government, he noted.
Shahid Rind said that on the instructions of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, it has also been announced to award certificates of merit to the officers supervising the rescue operation and the teams serving in the field.
In recognition of their hard work, dedication and professional services, he said that the Balochistan government is further enhancing the capacity of PDMA to deal with natural disasters, so as to ensure a prompt and effective response in any future emergency situation.
