PESHAWAR, Jul 30 (APP):A training workshop on the topic of “Data Interpretation and Utilization” was held on Wednesday at a local hotel in Peshawar.
The workshop was organized in collaboration between the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The purpose of the workshop is to promote data-driven planning and decision-making so that the PBS database can be utilized effectively and comprehensively.
The participants were briefed on the role of data in evidence-based policymaking through National Accounts, Labor Force, Economic Census, Village Census, and Agricultural Census.
On this occasion, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics also gave a live demonstration of dynamic dashboards, presenting visual statistics, indicators, and historical data series in an effective manner.
Participants learned through practical exercises how data can be used effectively in policymaking and to address the challenges that hinder data utilization.
Through an on-site Data Dissemination Desk set up at the workshop, participants were provided with relevant data on population, education, health, economic and social indicators, trade, industry, and labor force.
This workshop aims to build the capacity of senior officials, planners and experts from various departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It will pave the way for evidence-based planning at the provincial level, foster inter-institutional collaboration, support effective financial decision-making and promote a culture of informed and sustainable policymaking.
