LAHORE, Jan 03 (APP):The district-wise ranking of literacy rates in Punjab has been released, revealing significant variations across the province. According to the latest report issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), several districts have emerged as leaders in educational attainment.
Murree recorded the highest literacy rate in Punjab at 84.3 percent. It was followed by Rawalpindi at 83.2 percent, Jhelum at 82.1 percent, Gujranwala at 81.2 percent, and Lahore, which secured a place among the top five with a literacy rate of 80.7 percent.
The report noted that Lahore’s literacy rate stands well above the provincial average, highlighting the city’s comparatively stronger educational infrastructure.
