Parents’ Day celebrated with splendor at Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi

MANSEHRA, Nov 29 (APP):The 19th Parents’ Day ceremony was held with great enthusiasm at Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi here Saturday. The event featured colorful performances, impressive displays of discipline and large participation from parents and dignitaries.
Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, attended the event as the chief guest, while Federal Minister for Education Wajiha Qamar, MPA Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf and other political leaders participated as guests of honour. Parents of cadets and media representatives were also present in large number.
The ceremony was held in the College ground, beautifully decorated for the occasion, with strict security and well-organized arrangements. Upon arrival, the chief guest was welcomed by Principal Sony Kum Seong Su, senior faculty members, and cadets who presented a guard of honour. He laid a wreath at the memorial of Captain Muhammad Usman Ali Shaheed and offered Fateha.
The event formally began with recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat and the college anthem. In his welcome address, the Principal highlighted the institution’s remarkable progress and assured parents that their children were receiving comprehensive academic and moral training. He encouraged parents to maintain close coordination with the college for the best development of their children.
A “Champion Flag Handover Ceremony” was held, in which Khyber House was declared the Champion House 2025.
Cadets showcased an impressive parade, PT display, gymnastics show, and Taekwondo performance, earning applause for their discipline and skills. Cultural segments featuring folk dances representing the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Hazara highlighted national unity.
Guest speakers, including MPA Shahjehan Yousaf and Federal Minister Wajiha Qamar, praised the high standard of the event and assured full support for the College’s future development. The chief guest, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, commended the cadets’ outstanding performance in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, describing the college as one of the country’s finest institutions.
Students also displayed creative projects in the Scouting Club, Art and Painting, Archery, Computer, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry clubs. The horse-riding show proved to be the highlight of the event, with cadets performing professional-level tent pegging, vaulting, and obstacle-crossing techniques.
Outstanding students, teachers and staff members were awarded prizes and souvenirs were presented to the chief guest and guests of honour. The ceremony concluded with refreshments for all attendees.
