LAHORE, Aug 4 (APP):Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi on Thursday said Pakistan’s land was not used for drone attack in Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference here in Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia, he said some elements wanted to bring chill into the relations of Pakistan and Afghanistan through a pre-planned disinformation campaign.
Ashrafi who is also the chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council was of the view that the undue criticism on the state institutions for one’s vested interests and benefits should be stopped.
He said it was a matter of great pride that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa owned a prestigious place in the world and was playing a significant role for the betterment and stability of the country’s economy.
As a result of the contacts made by the COAS, good news was on the way from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, China and International Monetary Fund, he added.
He said General Bajwa and Pakistan Army were part of the state and they were playing the same role as played in 2018 and beyond.
Ashrafi said the nation was proud of its army chief and all those making propaganda had failed in the past and would fail in the future as well.
He said the nation, security forces and Pakistan Army were united for the cause of national security and stability.
“The martyrdom of Corps Commander Quetta and five other army officers in Helicopter incident is like a jewel on the forehead of the entire nation,” he added.
He said those who were spreading false notions about the helicopter accident could not be friends of the country and nation.
Ashrafi said in the wake of helicopter incident, launching a filthy campaign on the part of some elements was deplorable and sorrowful as these elements aimed at making instability in the country.
He urged them to avoid such propagandas which were totally against the Pakistan’s security and stability.
Regarding Muharram-ul-Haram, he said Coordination Centers and Peace Committees were working at every respective level to ensure law and order across the country.
He opined that the lovers of Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA) should follow his footprints in a bid to support the oppressed against the oppressor.
Ashrafi said Muthahida Ulema Board in coordination with Pakistan Ulema Council was making joint efforts to ensure law and order in the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
He expressed the hope that with blessings of Allah Almighty, efforts for inter-sect harmony and religious tolerance would prevail in this sacred month.
