Pakistan’s furniture industry has potential to shine globally: Arora

LAHORE, Jul 28 (APP):Punjab Minister for Minorities Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora has said that Pakistan’s furniture industry possesses the talent and potential to make a mark in international markets.
He made these remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of the 115th Pakistan Lifestyle Furniture Expo (PLFE), held at Pine Avenue, Lahore.
On the occasion, the minister distributed certificates of appreciation among the participating exhibitors, commending their creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence.
The minister said  that the expo provided an ideal platform to showcase the skill and innovation of local manufacturers. He underscored the need for sustained collaboration between the government and the private sector to enhance furniture exports and create meaningful employment opportunities.
Later, talking to media representatives, the Minister further highlighted the untapped potential of Pakistan’s furniture sector. “The craftsmanship, design innovation, and technical skill demonstrated by our local manufacturers are truly commendable,” he noted. “This expo has showcased Pakistani talent at its finest. With continued support and strategic partnerships, this industry can significantly boost exports and generate economic growth.”
He encouraged exhibitors to remain focused on innovation, adherence to international quality standards, and alignment with evolving global design trends. “Such exhibitions not only provide visibility to local talent but also connect them with new markets and customer bases,” he added.
During the ceremony, the minister visited multiple stalls and engaged with furniture makers, entrepreneurs, and young designers. He appreciated the wide range of products on display, from traditional handcrafted woodwork to contemporary modular designs, and acknowledged the dynamic role of young talent in transforming the industry’s outlook.
Expo CEO Mian Faisal briefed attendees on the success of the event, noting that more than 100 leading furniture brands participated in this year’s edition. He added that the expo drew large crowds, including business leaders, government officials, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry members, provincial assembly representatives, and honorary consuls from various countries, significantly enhancing the event’s visibility and reputation.
Visitors to the expo availed exclusive discounts of up to 40 percent on a wide array of furniture and home decor items. The event also served as a launchpad for emerging designers and architects, offering them valuable exposure to market trends and opportunities to present their ideas in a vibrant and competitive environment.
