Pakistan Railways delegation visits PITB

LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP):A delegation from Pakistan Railways visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to discuss ongoing IT interventions and explore opportunities for future collaboration aimed at modernizing railway operations through digital transformation.
The visiting delegation was led by Pakistan Railways Director IT Syed Ali Raza, and included senior officials Abdul Qayyum, Khurram Shahzad, and Syed Zafar Gilani. During the session, Syed Ali Raza provided a detailed overview of the current digital systems being implemented within the Railways and shared insights into the department’s upcoming IT-driven initiatives.
The PITB team, led by Additional Director General (ADG) Syed Qasim Ifzal, presented an overview of PITB’s flagship digital governance projects, highlighting successful implementations across various government departments. PITB Joint Director Arsalan Manzoor was also present during the meeting.
The visit concluded with a tour of PITB’s state-of-the-art Data Center, where the delegation took keen interest in PITB’s digital infrastructure and discussed potential areas for integration and support in line with Pakistan Railways’ long-term digital strategy.
In his message, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf remarked, “PITB is committed to empowering public institutions like Pakistan Railways with secure, scalable digital solutions that enhance efficiency and transparency. This collaboration marks a step forward in modernizing services through technology.”
The Pakistan Railways delegation appreciated PITB’s efforts and expressed interest in continued coordination to bring modern, efficient, and citizen-centric systems to the country’s rail network.
