LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP): Punjab Health Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, has said that Pakistan, Alhamdulillah, is on the path of continuous progress and prosperity.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Wafaq-ul-Madaris-ul-Salafiya held at the Home Department on Thursday. The meeting discussed matters related to peace, law and order, and inter-Muslim unity in detail.
Khawaja Salman stressed that all stakeholders, including state institutions and civil society, must play their vital role in Pakistan’s development. He said that the state of Pakistan stands as a symbol of peace, brotherhood, and opposition to violence, adding that maintaining harmony and promoting progress is a collective responsibility.
He described religious scholars who follow the teachings of Allah Almighty and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as the pride of the Muslim Ummah. “We will continue to seek guidance from our respected scholars in light of Islamic teachings and the Sunnah,” he added.
Secretary Home Department Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi highlighted that maintaining peace, protecting citizens’ lives, property, and honour, and ensuring order in daily life are the state’s foremost responsibilities. He called for promoting unity among Muslims and said that scholars must guide people toward the true spirit of Islam.
He further stated that the current circumstances demand greater peace, harmony, and security in society.
Secretary Auqaf Department Tahir Raza Bukhari, Additional Secretary Internal Security, DIG Special Branch, DIG CTD, Colonel (retd) Shahzad, Dr Ahmed Khawar, Sohail Raza, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
The Wafaq-ul-Madaris-ul-Salafiya delegation included Central Deputy Ameer Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan Rana Muhammad Shafiq Khan Pasruri, Muhammad Yasin Zafar, Muhammad Suleman, Atiq-ur-Rehman, Hafiz Muhammad Yunus, and others.
