QUETTA, Sep 13 (APP): Afghan Interim Authorities have assured that Afghan territory was not used as a launching pad for terrorist attacks against Pakistan and they would respect the territorial integrity keeping its concerns in mind.
These views were expressed by Central Vice President Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri on the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
She said that the interim Afghan authorities are fully aware of the reasons for the temporary closure of the Torkham border.
She said that Pakistan cannot accept any kind of adventure on its territory that would harm the integrity of Pakistan.
She said that continuous and unprovoked firing on Pakistani borders cannot be justified under any circumstances.
She further said that the unprovoked firing of Afghan security forces encourages terrorists saying that the Afghan authorities should take full action to completely eliminate the shelters of elements involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that Pakistan has sheltered Afghan brothers for the past several decades and this is continuing till now.
She further said that Pakistan has given full support to Afghanistan in difficult times and has given full support and cooperation for stability in Afghanistan after the end of the wars fought against Russia and America.
She strongly condemns the terrorist activities on Pakistani soil from Afghanistan saying that Pakistan has always shown restraint and preferred dialogue despite continuous unprovoked actions by Afghan soldiers stationed on the Pak-Afghan border.
It has been temporarily closed after many unpleasant incidents such as the use of Afghan territory for attacks. Pakistan will not allow misuse of the border trade agreement, she said.
She said that Pakistan is ready to resolve all bilateral issues and concerns through constructive dialogue so that both countries can benefit from the fruits of economic ties and set the path of development and prosperity.
She said that on September 6, instead of a peaceful solution, Afghan soldiers resorted to unprovoked firing and targeted Pakistani military posts, which is condemnable.
