QUETTA, Feb 23 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Monday said that Pakistan is a strong basis of trade in bilateral relations.
He said that Pakistan is connected to Iran through the way of Balochistan.
In view of the economic and trade changes taking place in the region, this land route is a game-changer that provides a unique opportunity to increase the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran from $3 billion to $10 billion.
He expressed these views while talking to Iranian Consul General in Pakistan, Mohammad Karimi Todishki. Iranian Consul General Muhammad Karimi Todeshki presented his diplomatic credentials, on which the Governor of Balochistan expressed the hope that his appointment would have a positive impact on the bilateral relations between the two countries.
On this occasion, Governor of Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that geography also has a great impact on the relations of countries, due to which no country can change its neighbor, but we would definitely use our common Pak-Iran border for economic development and mutual benefit.
By promoting large-scale economic activities, we can easily overcome important issues like poverty and unemployment in Balochistan and raise the standard of living of our people, he said.
Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that regarding border trade and the establishment of border markets, we need to further expand and modernize our infrastructure and by increasing the capacity of the workforce, trade activities could be accelerated.
He said that other minor issues would also be resolved through continuous communication and meetings.
