BAHAWALPUR, Jan 31 (APP): Experts from both Pakistan and China reviewed progress on joint projects in the field of scientific research and environment.
According to a spokesman for the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), an international project meeting with theme “Study on Vegetation Restoration and Carbon Sequestration Potential of Abandoned Land in Mountainous Areas” was organised by Agri Community College, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and International Center for Climate Change Food Security and Sustainability the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
“In this meeting, seven Chinese delegates from Key Laboratory of Land Surface Pattern and Simulation, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China and Center for Ecological Civilization Research, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Beijing, China, participated with lot of funding opportunities, collaboration and cooperation initiatives in the field of climate change, food security, land-use land cover, farming lands, ecosystems restoration, pollution control measures and lot of other initiatives were discussed,” he said.
He further said that as there were leading researchers/professors from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China and Center for Ecological Civilization Research, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, China were very much interested in collaboration, cooperation and joint-ventures initiates from International Center for Climate Change Food Security and Sustainability the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
