QUETTA, Nov 28 (APP): Director General of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moinur Rehman Khan on Friday said that Pak-China Friendship Hospital is an important pillar of the social structure of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) which is supporting thousands of lives every day in Gwadar.
He said this while presiding over an annual third anniversary celebration ceremony of the Indus Hospital and Health Network, managed by GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital after its completion of three years in Gwadar.
The hospital was handed over to the Indus System in November 2022, after which significant improvement, expansion and direct access of the public to modern treatment became possible in three years.
While Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Chief Operating Officer Indus Hospital and Health Network Mazhar Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Abdul Shakoor, DHO Dr. Yasir Baloch, political and social leader Arshad Kalmati and Head of Campus Dr. Affan Faiqzada, along with government and welfare figures, were present in large numbers.
DG of GDA Moinur Rehman Khan said that innovation, expansion and provision in the health sector is the top priority of GDA and steps would continue to strengthen this project in the future.
President Indus Hospital and Health Network Dr. Abdul Bari addressed the participants through a special video message.
Dr. Abdul Bari said that the main objective of the hospital was to provide treatment to the people of Gwadar and Makran divisions at their doorsteps, which has become a reality in a short span of three years.
He said that so far more than 650,000 patients have been treated free of cost while 80 percent of the more than 487 staff members are local, which is a positive and historic milestone for Balochistan.
