PAF contingent takes over guard duties at Mazar-e-Iqbal on Pakistan Day
LAHORE, Mar 23 (APP):A graceful guard-changing ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal on the occasion of Pakistan Day,where a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force formally took over guard duties.
Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Shahid Afzal attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Upon arrival, he laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and offered Fateha.
Later,the chief guest recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book, paying homage to Iqbal’s vision and his contributions to the ideological foundation of the country.
The ceremony was conducted with traditional military discipline and solemnity, as personnel of the Pakistan Air Force assumed ceremonial responsibilities from the previous guards.
A number of officials and guests were also present on the occasion.
