Over 625,000 Afghans repatriated from KP

PESHAWAR, Oct 22 (APP):The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is continuing, with official data showing 625,842 citizens have returned to Afghanistan so far.
According to the provincial Home Department, the vast majority, 616,000 people, returned through the Torkham border.
Of these, more than 594,000 left voluntarily.
The data shows 31,474 Afghans were deported after legal procedures, including 9,830 Afghan Citizen Card holders.
The repatriation process began in September 2023. Authorities say it is being carried out in an organized and lawful manner, with federal agencies, law enforcement, and district administrations working together to safeguard human rights.
