RAWALPINDI, Oct 19 (APP): Over 5,500 police officers have been deployed to perform security duties in connection with the Pakistan–South Africa cricket series under the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani.
According to police spokesman, special security and traffic plans have been prepared for the practice and Test matches.
For traffic management, more than 367 officers have been assigned while senior officers are present in the field to supervise and brief security personnel.
Snipers have also been deployed on rooftops, and monitoring is being carried out through CCTV cameras, with a separate control room established for this purpose.
Additionally, Police mobiles, Elite Force, and Dolphin Squad are actively patrolling around the stadium to ensure law and order.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani emphasized that “foolproof security and traffic measures” have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the Test match. “We have made effective arrangements to facilitate cricket fans while prioritizing the safety of all stakeholders involved in the Pakistan-South Africa cricket series,” he stated.
