Over 4,300 Police cops deployed in Rawalpindi to ensure security

RAWALPINDI, Feb 08 (APP): To maintain law and order, Rawalpindi Police have deployed over 4,300 officers and personnel across the city.
The deployment, carried out on the special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, as the city is placed on high security alert, with stringent measures implemented to manage traffic and ensure public safety, Police spokesperson confirmed.
Senior police officers are present in the field to personally supervise security arrangements, while special pickets have been set up at 82 key locations and strict checking continues at all major entry and exit points. Section 144 remains in force, and authorities have warned that illegal gatherings, rallies, or sit-ins will not be tolerated.
A ban on pillion riding has also been imposed, and police mobile units, along with Elite Force and Dolphin Force teams, are conducting regular citywide patrolling.
The city is being continuously monitored through Safe City and other surveillance cameras to ensure public safety.
City Police Officer CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani emphasized that any lawbreaking or unrest will be dealt with strictly, and that protecting citizens’ lives, property, and maintaining peace remains the top priority of Rawalpindi Police.
