ATTOCK, Jan 9 (APP):An important meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign on Friday was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Rao Atif Raza. The anti-polio campaign will start February, 2 to 5.
The meeting was attended by CEO Health, Dr Asad Ismail, assistant commissioners, officials of the Health Department, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), and other concerned officers.
The deputy commissioner was given a detailed briefing on the arrangements for the polio campaign.
It was informed that during the campaign, over 300,000 children under the age of five would be administered polio drops across the district.
The officials said comprehensive arrangements were being made in that regard.
The polio teams will be deployed at all entry and exit points of the district to vaccinate children under five.
In addition, roaming teams have also been constituted to go door-to-door for administering polio drops.
It was further stated that all vaccination teams would be provided foolproof security.
Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the Health Department during the campaign to ensure vaccination to every child in the district.
