Over 300 ‘Nigehban Dastarkhwans’ set up across Punjab on CM’s directives

LAHORE, Feb 21 (APP): More than 300 ‘Nigehban Dastarkhwans’ were established across Punjab on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with the support of philanthropists and organisations, as thousands of people gathered to break their fast on the first day of Ramazan.
The chief minister expressed gratitude to donors and institutions for their cooperation and lauded their spirit of generosity, saying the initiative reflected the essence of compassion and brotherhood, said a handout issued here on Saturday.
Large gatherings were reported at dastarkhwans in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur, while similar arrangements saw significant participation in Chiniot, DG Khan, Gujrat, Jhang, Attock, Jhelum, Kasur and Khanewal.
Senior officials joined citizens in Kot Addu, Layyah, Mandi Bahauddin, Murree, Muzaffargarh, Okara and Narowal, with thousands also served in Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Bhalwal and Sargodha.
A variety of food items were offered at the dastarkhwans, where millions of people across the province were served iftar. The chief minister underscored that Ramazan is a time of compassion and collective responsibility, with caring for every deserving individual remaining a fundamental duty.
