BAHAWALPUR, Jul 30 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), in collaboration with the district management, seized over 25 maunds of unhealthy meat.
According to a press release issued here, a team of the district management, PFA Bahawalpur Unit and Livestock Department, headed by Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Qurat-ul-Ain, conducted raids at several meat shops in Khanqah area and confiscated over 25 maunds unhealthy meat.
Cases have been registered against those found invovled in selling out unhealthy meat got from ill cattle. Meanwhile, a butcher has been arrested over supplying unhealthy meat to other cities. “The meat was packed in ice boxes and transported to other cities where it was used at kitchens of restaurents,” it said. The press release concluded that PFA Bahawalpur would continue its campaign against those involved in selling out sub-standard, fake and unhealthy foods in the region.
