Over 15,000 Negahban Cards distributed to deserving families in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Feb 19 (APP):The distribution of Negahban Cards to deserving and low-income families is underway across the Rawalpindi District to provide financial assistance during the Holy Month of Ramazan.
According to a district administration spokesman on Thursday, over 15,000 cards have so far been distributed. Each card entitles the recipient family to Rs10,000 in cash support to help meet basic needs and food requirements during the holy month.
The distribution process is underway across all Tehsils of Rawalpindi, with members of the National and Provincial Assemblies also participating to ensure that the assistance reaches as many eligible families as possible.
The spokesman said the initiative was being implemented in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide relief to underprivileged segments of society.
He added that the distribution was being carried out transparently and on a merit basis, and efforts were ongoing to reach the remaining eligible families so that maximum benefit was provided during Ramazan.
