Over 146,000 apply for CM Livestock Card as Rawalpindi reviews progress on welfare schemes

RAWALPINDI, Aug 18 (APP):Director Livestock Rawalpindi Division, Dr. Naveed Sahar Zaidi, provided a detailed media briefing on the progress of ongoing development projects and Chief Minister Punjab’s welfare initiatives aimed at empowering rural communities and upgrading livestock infrastructure.
Highlighting the Chief Minister’s flagship initiative to empower widowed and divorced women in South Punjab through free cattle distribution, tje director shared that 68,700 applications have been received to date. All submitted applications are currently undergoing verification by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA).
Dr. Zaidi also presented a comprehensive breakdown of the multi-stage verification process for the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card scheme. Out of 146,533 total applications received, 77,251 are currently under process, while 69,282 were rejected during initial processing.
Regarding identity verification, a total of 135,847 applications cleared NADRA scrutiny, 10,241 were rejected, and 445 remain under processing. Among the NADRA-cleared applications, the Bank of Punjab approved 96,258 in its Stage-I review, rejected 35,817, and kept 3,772 under process.
Field teams inspecting livestock cleared 13,869 applications, rejected 23,224, while 59,165 applications remain under active field verification. The 13,869 approved applications have advanced to Bank of Punjab Stage-II verification alongside mandatory farmer and livestock registration in the Punjab Animal Identification and Traceability System (PAITS).
The director assured that livestock staff across Rawalpindi Division are actively executing application verifications and administrative duties. In line with directives from Provincial Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, the department is accelerating project timelines to ensure transparent execution, door-step service delivery, and the modernization of veterinary hospitals across the province
