DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 21 (APP): The district police of Tank have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peace for the ongoing anti-polio campaign which entered its second day.
According to police spokesman, more than 1,250 police personnel have been deployed across the district under the special directives of the District Police Officer(DPO) Shabir Hussain Shah, with the cooperation of other law enforcement agencies providing foolproof security to ensure the safety of polio teams, citizens, and all field staff.
The police are ensuring full implementation of the pre-devised security plan during the campaign.
DPO Shabir Hussain Shah visited various points in the city and suburban areas, personally administered polio drops to children, and appealed to parents to fully cooperate with polio teams so that future generations can be permanently protected from this crippling disease.
Before the commencement of duty, all police personnel were given detailed briefings by their respective sector in-charges and SHOs, emphasizing honesty, courage, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) also conducted thorough sweeping of all sensitive areas before the deployment of field staff to ensure a safe environment for the campaign.
Under the supervision of DPO Shabir Hussain Shah, sector in-charges and SHOs are continuously monitoring and inspecting security arrangements in their respective areas. Security conditions are being closely reviewed to ensure immediate response to any untoward incident.
The DPO reiterated that the polio eradication campaign was a national responsibility, and Tank Police are utilizing all available resources for its success.
He said that the protection of polio workers and citizens remains the top priority, and strict monitoring of the overall security situation would continue throughout the campaign.
