SARGODHA, Nov 05 (APP):As many as 102,392 registered beneficiaries have received payments under the recently released tranche of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Sargodha district.
Deputy Director BISP Safdar Awan, while speaking to APP, said that out of a total of 129,342 registered beneficiaries in the district, 102,392 deserving individuals have been paid the BISP amount. Providing further details, he said that in Sargodha tehsil, 45,349 out of 51,197 beneficiaries had received their payments; in Bhera, 8,534 out of 9,587; in Bhalwal, 10,633 out of 11,936; in Sahiwal, 6,089 out of 6,846; in Kot Momin, 14,085 out of 15,188; and in Sillanwali, 8,311 out of 7,660 registered beneficiaries had taken payments under the latest tranche.
Awan added that nearly 96 per cent of the payment process had been completed, while the remaining payments would be made by Friday. To facilitate the beneficiaries, 13 campsites were established β five in Sargodha and the rest across all tehsils.
He stressed that, for the first time in history, not a single case of illegal deduction was reported, adding that 97 per cent of the payments were made in a fully transparent manner.
