Over 1,000 police personnel deployed for four-day polio campaign in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 21 (APP):Police have put in place comprehensive security arrangements for the four-day anti-polio vaccination campaign by deploying more than 1,000 police officers and personnel across the district.
According to police spokesperson, security is being provided to 689 polio vaccination teams working in different areas of the district.
In addition, 352 transit points and 232 vaccination centres have also been placed under security cover.
Police mobile units, the Elite Squad and Dolphin Force are conducting regular patrolling in various areas to ensure the safety of vaccination teams.
Foolproof security arrangements had been made for the duration of the polio drive, with personnel deployed at key locations and along routes used by vaccination teams.
The police spokesperson said that it is prime duty of police to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure a secure environment for the successful completion of the vaccination campaign.
