CHINIOT, Nov 21 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team in Chiniot foiled an attempt to supply meat from a sick animal, seizing more than 1.5 maunds of foul-smelling, unstamped, and highly hazardous meat deemed unfit for human consumption.
According to APP correspondent, DG Punjab Food Authority Muhammad Asim Javed reiterated that strict action will continue against those involved in adulteration and health-damaging practices to ensure the provision of pure, hygienic, and quality food to the public.
Veterinary Specialist Dr. Abdul Basit examined the consignment and confirmed that the meat was extremely dangerous for use. Consequently, the authorities destroyed the entire quantity immediately.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Punjab Food Authority Act 2011, amended 2016.
