QUETTA, Jul 16 (APP):Adviser to Sports Mena Majeed said that the purpose of organizing All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Football Gold Cup (APCMBFGC) is to attract youth towards sports so that they would show their talent in international games.
She said this while formally inaugurating the Fifth All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Football Gold Cup at Ayub Sports Complex Football Ground.
On this occasion, Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Durrani, Secretary Sports and Culture, Baloch DG Sports Yasir Bazai, Deputy Director Asif Farooqi, Kamran Khurshid and Assistant Director Asif Lango were also present.
Adviser to Sports Mena Majeed said that Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the vision of the event is to attract youth towards sports.
She said that the purpose of organizing the tournament is to send a message to the world that the people of Balochistan love sports and hate terrorism.
Secretary Sports and Culture Dura Baloch said that the people of Balochistan love sports, especially football, which is a clear proof that the ground is full of spectators. Balochistan is a people who hate terrorism and love sports.
She said that Balochistan’s hospitality is famous all over the world, organizing such an event would bring out new talent, 67 teams from all over the country are participating in the mega event.
More than three teams participated in the first qualifying round. After that, qualifying matches were played between 170 teams. 67 teams have started thrilling competitions in the mega event, she said.
She said that the opening matches would be started from July 15 to July 31, the final would be played on July 31, the winning team to get 2.5 million and the runner-up would get 1.5 million and the team coming in third position to be given a prize of Rs. 500,000.
The opening match was played between Baloch Football Club Nushki and Afghan Football Club Chaman.
