MULTAN, Jun 11 (APP):The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has distributed financial aid worth Rs 15.2 million among the legal heirs of 38 overseas Pakistanis who passed away while working abroad.
In a ceremony held at the OPF Regional Office Multan, each family received a cheque of Rs 400,000. The cheques were handed over by Regional Head Manzar Hussain along with Deputy Director Muhammad Jawad, Complaints Cell In-charge Rana Muhammad Majid, Superintendent Muhammad Akbar, Assistant Welfare Officers Rana Ashfaq Mehmood, and Muhammad Riaz.
Addressing the event, OPF officials said the aid cheques were a gesture of support, though they could never compensate for the loss of a loved one. The initiative was undertaken under the visionary leadership of OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza and Managing Director Muhammad Afzal Bhatti.
Officials clarified that the cheques were issued only after thorough verification of documents and eligibility. They urged all overseas Pakistanis to ensure their registration with OPF to benefit from its support in unforeseen situations.
They also conveyed the OPF leadership’s message that the foundation continues to assist overseas Pakistanis in resolving issues related to housing, land disputes, and asset protection in Pakistan.
