OPF, Commissioner Quetta welcomes over 200 students returning from Iran amid regional tensions

QUETTA, Jun 18 (APP):The Regional Head of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Balochistan, Raza Warsi and Commissioner Quetta Division welcomed over 200 Pakistani students returning from Iran due to regional tensions sparked by the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
The officials welcomed over 200 Pakistani students have returned to the country through the Taftan border crossing as the evacuation of nationals from Iran continues amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
The returning students were provided food, drinking water, shelter, and onward transport facility in a well-coordinated reception in Quetta organized jointly by OPF and the Balochistan government.
Speaking to the media, Raza Warsi reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. He noted that the OPF is working under the special directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain, OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza, Managing Director Mohammad Afzal Bhatti, and Director General Welfare and Services Mustafa Haider.
“Overseas Pakistanis are our pride. Their contributions, commitments, and enduring connection to Pakistan cannot be overstated,” Warsi said. He emphasized that the government is fully aware of the challenges faced by overseas communities and remains committed to resolving their issues with respect and urgency.
Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat praised the OPF’s prompt response and logistical arrangements, expressing satisfaction with the smooth coordination between federal and provincial bodies. He reiterated that the government stands ready to extend further support if needed.
The students expressed heartfelt gratitude over the warm welcome and assistance, describing the arrangements as efficient and reassuring. Many shared that they felt safe and cared for upon arrival in Quetta.
Raza Warsi concluded by reaffirming OPF’s ongoing mission, saying “This is not a one-time gesture. OPF stands committed to ensuring that no overseas Pakistani ever feels neglected, whether abroad or upon their return home.”
