CHINIOT, Jul 31 (APP):Deputy Director Operations, PFA, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Raza, has said that operations against the adulteration mafia were underway by taking indiscriminate actions in the district.
He said that on the instructions of DG, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Muhammad Asim Javed, a campaign was launched to check milk trucks by setting up blockades on the city’s entry and exit routes. He said inspection of milk shops and collection centers was also underway and more than 100 litres of adulterated milk were destroyed during various operations.
He said that inspections were conducted at 112 points across the city to check the quality of basic necessities and a fine of Rs. 159,000 was imposed for violating laws.
Poor sanitation arrangements were found during the checking of food points. During the inspection, 3 kg of smelly meat was recovered and destroyed, he added.
