ABBOTTABAD, Jan 07 (APP):The district administration Abbottabad has intensified its ongoing operation against permanent encroachments as part of efforts to reclaim government land and ensure smooth public movement in the city.
According to official sources, permanent illegal encroachments established at Link Road near Altaf Hospital were removed by the Tehsil Officer Revenue (TOR) and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) staff. Despite repeated notices issued by TMA Abbottabad, the encroachers failed to remove the illegal structures voluntarily.
Following the clear directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, along with TOR Abid Khan and concerned TMA staff, carried out a targeted operation at the site. During the operation, illegally constructed permanent encroachments on TMA Abbottabad property were demolished, and government land was successfully retrieved.
Officials stated that the encroachers had been given multiple opportunities to comply with the law and dismantle the encroachments on their own. However, due to continued non-compliance, the administration was left with no option but to take enforcement action.
The district administration further informed that notices have been issued to the encroachment mafia across Abbottabad, warning them to remove illegal occupations immediately. Authorities made it clear that such operations will continue in different parts of the city to eliminate encroachments and restore public and government property.
The administration reiterated its resolve to uphold the rule of law and urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining order and ensuring unobstructed access to public roads and spaces.
