PESHAWAR, Jun 29 (APP):On the instructions of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, an indiscriminate operation has been launched against encroachments along the Swat River.
According to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, Faraz Ahmad Mughal, the district administration, police and relevant departments are jointly participating in the operation. No leniency will be shown during the operation, and the actions against encroachments will be completed swiftly, he said.
The spokesperson stated that illegal mining along the river has been completely halted, and strict legal action will be taken against all those responsible.
He added that the construction of barriers along the river will also be initiated. After the Swat River, the scope of the anti-encroachment operation will be further expanded.
He emphasized that steps are being taken to restore and preserve the beauty of tourist spots. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has issued clear instructions that no type of encroachment will be allowed at tourist destinations.
