One-minute silence to be observed on Aug 5 to express solidarity with Kashmiris

LAHORE, Aug 04 (APP): A one-minute silence will be observed across Punjab at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, to mark Youm-i-Istehsal (Exploitation Day) and express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, the directive has been issued to all relevant field formations across the province in line with instructions received from the federal government.
The spokesperson said the entire nation is united against the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India and continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Federal Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON had earlier instructed all provincial governments to observe the occasion in a dignified manner.
In compliance, the Punjab Home Department has issued official directives to the Inspector General of Punjab Police, Inspector General of Prisons, Director General of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, Director General of the Forensic Science Agency, Director General of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority, Director Civil Defence, DG Monitoring, DG Punjab Probation and Parole Service, CEO Punjab Charities Commission, and the Commandants of Border Military Police (D.G. Khan and Rajanpur) and Baloch Levies (D.G. Khan), among others.
