ISLAMABAD, Jun 25 (APP):A woman lost her life and 15 passengers sustained minor injuries when a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Bajaur met with an accident near Burhan on Motorway (M1).
According to a spokesperson of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), The bus, carrying 42 people, reportedly crashed due to the negligence of the driver.
Following the accident, a heavy contingent of Motorway Police immediately reached the site and launched a rescue operation. Medical assistance was provided to the injured at the scene.
The crash also damaged several nearby vehicles; however, no additional injuries were reported. The bus driver and conductor fled the scene and efforts are underway to locate them.
Authorities cleared the road by removing the damaged bus using a crane. Local police have been called in for further legal proceedings.
The Motorway Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring road safety and taking strict action against negligent driving.
