Ombudsman Punjab ensuring swift resolution of public complaints, says advisor

MULTAN, Jan 20 (APP):Advisor to the Punjab Ombudsman, Mahmood Javed Bhatti, said that the Punjab Ombudsman’s Office is committed to addressing public complaints regarding maladministration in all provincial departments promptly.
He stated that citizens can file complaints without hiring a lawyer, and their issues are resolved within a short period.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar at Government Graduate College for Women, Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Multan, as part of a public awareness campaign. During the seminar, Bhatti briefed the students about the jurisdiction, objectives, and functions of the Ombudsman’s Office and answered their queries.
He further highlighted that citizens can send complaints regarding corruption or administrative issues against any provincial department to the regional offices or the head office in Lahore via post. Applicants are notified of the hearing date and time via SMS on their mobile phones, and issues are resolved within 45 days.
Explaining the role and significance of the Ombudsman’s Office, Bhatti said that under the vision and directives of the Punjab Ombudsman, 41 regional offices are actively ensuring justice at the doorstep of citizens across the province.
The seminar was attended by Principal of Government Graduate College for Women, Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Fauzia Tabassum, faculty members, and Assistant Associate Regional Office Multan representative, Moazz Hassan. Public awareness pamphlets about the Ombudsman’s services were also distributed among students.
