LAHORE, Nov 13 (APP):Old Kemcolians Dr. Aftab Alam Khawaja and Dr. Asia Bano on Thursday visited King Edward Medical University (KEMU), where Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayaz warmly welcomed them and presented a bouquet of flowers.
Prominent faculty members including Prof. Asghar Naqi, Prof. Abrar Ashraf, and Prof. Tahira Fatima were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Aftab Alam Khawaja was awarded a gold medal for securing the first position in MBBS during the convocation held on October 12, 1966, while Dr. Asia Bano received a silver medal for achieving a prominent position in the same convocation.
During their visit, both guests toured the historic Patiala Block, Library Hall, and Archive Gallery. Commemorative shields were presented to Dr. Aftab Alam Khawaja and Dr. Asia Bano by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayaz and the faculty members.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahmood Ayaz said that the visit of distinguished Kemcolians Dr. Aftab Alam Khawaja and Dr. Asia Bano is a great honor for the university. “Their presence today is a source of pride for me and for the entire faculty,” he added.
Dr. Aftab Alam Khawaja expressed his gratitude, saying that visiting KEMU revived many cherished memories. “I pray to Almighty Allah to bless this great medical institution with continued success and glory,” he said.
