MULTAN, Nov 07 (APP):On the directions of Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani, an e-procurement training session was organised at Civil Secretariat South Punjab to build capacity of officials on modernised procurement procedures that promise transparency and fair competition in bidding process.
The training session was chaired by Sahibzadi Wasima Umar, Managing Director of Punjab Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA). She spoke on the legal and regulatory framework governing public procurement in Punjab. The e-Procurement team provided a comprehensive orientation and answered the questions of the participants through hands-on training in various modules during the interactive session. This initiative indicates the joint commitment of PPRA and PITB to promote transparency, efficiency and accountability through technology-based public procurement process in Punjab.
The objective of organizing a comprehensive training session on e-Procurement system in South Punjab is to bring the process pass through the digital window. Maryam Masood and Mansoor Ahmed from PITB gave a detailed briefing to the participants regarding the scope, features and performance of the system, and they along with other team members also provided practical training to the participants on various modules and features of the system. The participants highly appreciated PITB-PPRA joint effort. The e-procurement system is a modern digital platform that makes the government procurement process secure, transparent and efficient. Through this system, vendors from across the country can submit bids online. A digitized procurement process ensures saving of time and resources and promotes a culture of transparency, merit and fair competition. PITB aims to introduce such modern systems in government institutions that increase public trust and improve governance.
Additional Secretary Admin Abdul Saboor Thakur, DPO Lodhran Ali Bin Tariq, DPO Khanewal Ismail-ur-Rehman, SP Traffic Kashif Aslam, SP Rana Naeem, SP Muhammad Afzal, SSP Haider Ali and SO Development South Punjab Riaz Ahmed Khan, among others, were among the participants.
